The Conceditor WP Platinum Theme is my fourth free theme for the WordPress Community to use as see fit. Modify it, change it, colorize it — do what you like, but keep the copyright information in the footer intact. Other than that — enjoy!
A Few Words About WP Platinum
This theme was built for Firefox. Why? Beacuase I hate IE Explorer and the Gatesy World of Forced “Standards”. The theme works fine on both Safari and Flock out of the box. IE Explorer and Opera users must switch to Moo.FX in order to get the theme working. Though if you switch (you need to change a few lines of code and download the Moo.FX libraries) the WP Platinum Theme will run like an Indy Car even on Explorer and Opera.

Wow! Such a nice theme. I was looking around for a WordPress Theme and just stumbled in here. Now I know what theme to use anyways!!!! Thank you!!!
It’s a great effort, and really unique. The only problem that I see is that in Firefox the first three buttons do a jitter which looks more like an error than an effect. All in all, excellent effort my friend!
I know, I will fix that. I need to put each button in a DIV with enough right margin and the jitter will be gone. Thanx for “reminding” me…
It’s a beautiful theme, but a little difficult for those of us with older eyes to read, contrast-wise. I would have to tweak the contrast between print and background to feel comfortable using it. Otherwise, great work.
Changing the contrast is easily done in the style.css file. Just change to a brighter shade of grey in the color values.
Can you customize what pages appear in the four buttons without going too deep into the code? I would like to (if i used the theme) use a specific page as one of the buttons if that’s at all possible?
Also how adsense friendly is the layout?
Yes you can. In fact, all you need to do is to replace the images with whatever you want to call them. You need the Photoshop file though. Just tell me if you need it and I´ll email it to you. You also need to edit the category names in the index.php file to reflect your cats.
Adsense is no problem. Just create a new DIV whereever you wish your Adsense ads to appear.
Can u mail me banner and buttons psd files.
Themes is really cool…
I´ll put up the files here for download.
wow, nice theme! i like it! =) i think i might use it one of these days…
It would be nicer with out the javascript; I don’t see why it’s needed.
It´s needed for the menu system. On the other hand, I´d be curious to know how it could be built without using JavaScript. Please enlighten me.
Hey, Chris, how y´wanna do that hot menu stuff without the JS? The Moo stuff is JS as well. I never saw anything like that without the use of JS? Peter, great theme!!!
the site is awesome, i love how the nav works. but i have to comment on your decision to make this a non-IE template. with all due respect, it’s pretty pretentious of you to consciously exclude a majority of web servers out there. sure FF and other browsers are growing in market share, but you’re doing yourself an injustice by appearing snooty, as well as an injustice to any potential theme users who will otherwise lose traffic because of your personal hang-ups. sure, there’s a work-around, but why make people work to benefit from something you’re supposedly provided to them for that very reason??? knowing what the fix is, how hard would it have been for you to include moo.fx in the source files and put an option inside admin to either comply or not comply with browser specificities? by imposing your own standards against IE, you’re not better than “Gatesy”…
by the way, i’m a firefox user, so don’t think you’re vindicated by assuming i’m just a lame IE user.
Prost… (Which could be the F1 driver Alain or just ‘cheers’ in german). It was not a concious decision from my part that the theme should be pure Firefox. I started out using the JS libs and when I started testing the theme I noticed that it did not work on Explorer. I simply did not have time to replace all the JS libs with the Moo ones so the theme ended up being Explorer incompatible. Most of my themes have Explorer specific CSS files and work just fine on almost all browsers. However, I provide free themes, and have a business to run, so hopefully people will understand that I provide my themes as is.
it´s a Greate Theme, congrats.
Thanks.
Thanks, Albert! I liked your homepage. What are you? A wedding photographer or something?
Thanks for your reply, Peter. I hate sounding like I’m beating someone up over simple things, but my initial thought it was a conscious effort to undermine IE. I understand the feeling, IE is pretty lame with their “standards”, but am glad to know that the compatibility issue came about after-the-fact. Thanks again for providing free themes to the WP community!
Hello
It would be nicer with out the javascript; I don’t see why it’s needed
I’ve used this theme for my blog. Unfortunately, there’s some problems regarding to the image border especially the smilies. Please teach me how I can edit the image border so that the smilies can suit nicely in my blog.
Forgive me for my bad English. Hope you can help me.
Thanks.
@Prost: No problem.
@Aidilx: Oh, yes, that one… You need to edit the CSS file and add another class for where the smilies images appear. That is you need to create a class without borders for that one.
Hi Peter,
I really injoy your theme and many visitors of my site said that your theme is really good. Can you please send me the PSD files of your website. Becouse i not found PSD on download link.
I also want a link to your theme for downloading in my website (edited).
Hi Anurag… I noticed that you do not run this theme on your website and I do not approve of spam. Hence why your comment has been edited.
Hi Peter,
I love your theme but I am having an issue with putting my own header. I have finally managed to get it to display but it looks like it’s tiled since there is one and a half of the same picture and it also is not ending where the big colored buttons are. It seems like it is now half your stock header and half mine lol.
I’d really like some help so let me know if there is anything that can be done.
Thanks!
Hi Peter,
I’m not sure why but my comment has been deleted from this discussion and I never got my question answered. To refresh, i have a problem with customizing the header. I put my image in the code and it seem to have put it in on repeat and no matter what I do I can’t get the height or the tiling to be corrected.
Any advise on this matter?
Thanks.
Hi again,
I’m really not understanding why my comment isn’t being answered. I’d be more than happy to ask elsewhere but you happen to be the creator of the theme. I just need to properly put my header up. Is it not possible? If you can’t answer my question please point me in the right direction.
Eran
Eran… Sorry. I have been busy with other things than this site. You need to make sure that the header image is exactly the same size as the original before replacing it.
