The Conceditor WP Revolution-X Theme is my third free theme for the WordPress Community to use as see fit. Modify it, change it, colorize it — do what you like, but keep the copyright information in the footer intact. Other than that — enjoy!
A Few Words About WP Revolution-X
This theme utilizes the following plugin:
WP CSS Dropdown Menu by Isaac Rowntree
You do not have to use it, but not using WP CSS Dropdown Menu leaves you without the main menu.

Installation
1. Get yourself a copy of WordPress 2.5.1 (or later) and install it.
2. Download the plugin WP CSS Dropdown Menu.
3. Activate WP CSS Dropdown Menu but do NOT copy the stylesheet content to the stylsheet that comes with WP Revolution-X since it´s already taken care of (besides that I have heavily customized Isaacs code).
4. Open up the file index.php and features.php and set the following options:
- Set the four Features Module category boxes to reflect the categories of your choice. Find the following lines of code and change the CAT-value and the INCLUDE-value to the categories of your choice. Repeat that for all the four feature boxes. The theme will look strange if you do not specify all four feature categories and use them in your front page loop:

wp_list_categories(’include=10&title_li=&style=none’);
5. Create the BLOG page from within your WordPress administration interface. Use the provided page template for your blog page. Use the dropdown menu in the Page Template option in the “Write Page” section of WordPress and pick the template. Now your page is set up.
6. Install whichever widgets you want and choose the prefered sidebar (right, left, middle) in the Widgets section in which you want to display your widgets.
You´re finished.
Using Custom Fields
For the front page loop images in the four featured sections (categories) WP Revolution-X uses Custom Fields. The key for the large Featured Article should be set to “Image” (without the citation characters and with a capital “I”) and the value is simply the name of your image.
Like this: Key: Image and Value: name-of-image.jpg.
For the smaller Featured Category images, use the Key “Small” and then the image name.
The pictures should be uploaded to the folder “featured” in the WP Revolution-X template folder. If you want your images elsewhere you need to change the paths in each of the four featured boxes in the index.php and features.php files. Find this:
bloginfo(’template_url’); ?>/featured/
and change to whatever place you like on your server.
Different browsers
The WP Revolution-X theme has been developed for Firefox. It should work just fine on Opera, Netscape and Safari. Explorer has no issues which I know of. So, feel free to report bugs as well as solutions here. Creds will go into the stylesheet file.

Lasse: Tack så mycket. Jo, man kan bygga in fler funktioner, dock jag har inte för avsikt att underhålla mina gratisteman på annat sätt än att jag fixar eventuella buggar i dem. De kommer alltså inte att utökas i versioner som innehåller fler funktioner. Men ändra gärna själv i temat om du vill.
I really like this theme. Nice palette of grays. And it feels clean!
However, I don’t know what to do with a RAR download. Is it possible to provide a ZIP file as most other sites do?
If not, where can I download the application for RAR files (I’m on Windows XP).

zakoops: Thank you. You would usually use your normal Windows ZIP application to unpack the .rar file. Download WinRAR here: http://www.rarsoft.com/ — WinRAR handles .zip files as well.

“Revolution” is the very well known name used by Brian Gardner of RevolutionThemes.com
Steve… My friend… I know Gardners themes, I have bought a few. I am not trying to rip off anyone — how could I? If you look for Gardners Revolution Series, I am pretty sure that my Revolution-X theme is not an option. Besides, I am not the only one to use the word “Revolution” for a WordPress theme. Google around and you´ll see.
For me as an historian the word Revolution-X has a special meaning, and that was what i had in mind when creating the Revolution-X theme. Sad to have made you upset.

the download link is not working. It says the rar file is damaged or incomplete. Too bad cause I wanted to install this on a friend’s site.
StaticBrain… Did you try to download the theme a second time? Sometimes .zip and .rar files get damaged during download and you just need to try to download the file one more time and the problem will be solved. I downloaded the Revolution-X theme and had no problems unpacking the files. Just try another download.
Is not like putting pictures of the first page.where should I go to configure them?.
Please, help me for that item I like and I do not want to stop using it.
