And more…
Installation
1. Get yourself a copy of WordPress 2.5.1 (or later) and install it.
2. Install the theme WP Pix.
3. Create a category called “Photos”.
You´re finished.
Using Custom Fields
For the page loop images on all pages uses Custom Fields. The key for the large image must be set to “Image” (without the citation characters and with a capital “I”) and the value is simply the name of your image.
Like this: Key: Image and Value: name-of-image.jpg.
For the smaller images the key is “Small”.
The pictures should be uploaded to the folder “photos” in the WP Pix template folder. If you want your images elsewhere you need to change the paths in each of the instances that call for the images in the file structure. Find this:
bloginfo(’template_url’); ?>/photos/
and change to whatever place you like on your server.
Different browsers
The WP Pix theme has been developed with Firefox in mind. It work just fine on Flock, Netscape and Safari and IE Explorer I have not tested on IE 8, though). Opera has some issues which I simply did not have time to fix. So, feel free to report bugs as well as solutions here. In fact, I would be happy if someone could hack the CSS to fit Opera and then report back to me. Creds will go into the stylesheet file.
Good luck and enjoy!

Ieeh!!! This theme is great!!! Could I hire you for some custom work on this theme? Like multiple cats? Great job, man! My theme search is over.
Thank you. Yes, you could actually hire me for that. Just send me an email and we´ll talk about it.
Åh, det här temat vill jag ha. Jag har försökt att installera det men jag begriper inte hur man får det att funka med kategorierna och allt det där.
Vem kan/vill hjälpa mig?
Maila mig, så försöker jag reda ut dina problem med temat.
Hey great theme i use it on my blog
Keep the good work
How do I get the ‘portfolio’ and ‘blog’ pages to appear in the menu at the top?
Create two pages called “Portfolio” and Blog” and then choose the corresponding page templates from within the WordPress page function called “Page templates”. That´s it.
Thanks. That is great! The page is now up and running:-) Just one comment/bug. When watching a page, like http://pix.wp-magazine.se/?page_id=2 , the latest picture does not show on the bottom “Open This Menu For My Latest Photos”. On single pages it seems correct. I corrected this by editing the offset in the php-files. Thanks for making this awsome theme available!
I see the portfolio only will show the last 30 posts. Is it possible to have a “next” to show the next 30 posts? I also see the 30 images in the portfolio is made by a very repetitive code. If I get the time I will generalize this to be one single loop instead.
I could not duplicate that bug, Björge. Could you provide me with more information? I find no offset bugs at all in fact.
I like your homepage… Especially the first picture… He, he…
@ Björge: Yes, of course you can. Start here: # previous_posts_link
# next_posts_link on WordPress.org: http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags.
You can easily use arrays if you want one single loop. Feel free to change the code. Let me know of your efforts.
Look at the demo page. Go to About WP-PIX. Open the “Open This Menu For My Latest Photos”. You’ll see the first image is the lightning. now go to Blog. You’ll see that the scull, which is the latest image, should also be on the “Latest Photos” on the About.. page. Have to go home feed the dogs now, so cannot embark on the portfolio recode.
I love to get no response on a request, even if I can see a number of postings after mine.
Is there any reason why???

@ D.O. Hennig: I am not quite sure I follow you… Did I fail to reply on a support question? In that case, please resubmit your question and I´ll attend to it as soon as I can.
Seems to me that my reply on your post from 14:32 isn’t there, so I send it again:
Hi Peter,
by using the mail form there is not only my post gone but also the question since I don’t have a copy of it. Could you provide me with an email adress so that I could sent you a hard copy of the problem I have with your pix theme. It is really easy to see, but hard to discribe.
thx & b/r
D.O. Hennig
Yes, I was right. My last post I had to submitt twice. The first time it shows ok. by filling out the form and captcha but the post never showed up on this page. The second try was successful. So you might have a problem with this script?

@ D.O. Hennig: use the contact form here: http://www.wp-magazine.se/kontakt/.
You need to copy the captcha letters exactly, otherwise the scripts halts and throws away the comment.
Hi, i have some problems with this theme:
-No Latest Photos are showing up – not on portfolio page and not in slider
-No thumbnails in blogview and Tag-view
Is ist possible to realize a Slideshow feature within this theme?
Thanks for help
I guess it was my mistake. Iforgot to set the 2.nd Key for the Small image. Now i have the big images displayed as thumbnails.
Is this correct: Key:Small Value:picture.jpg ?? the same picture as the big one?
Hi Peter,
I came here looking for a nice blog and photoblog template and this one looks very cool. One thing I would like to ask though is why there is only one Category? Is it possible to make use of other catergories like in other templates? This way I can put my photos in different categories.
Cheers and thanks for the help
Teddy
Please how do I cutomise the header WP-PIX so that it shows the name of my website rather than the default WP-PIX. Also how do I change the picture of the eye to my own chosen image.
Thanks
@DP… Just remove the references to the header image in the CSS file and in the header and put the WordPress tags for website title and tagline in the same div instead. Done. As far as the picture of the eye, open it up in Photoshop or any other image editing software, do your stuff, and save over the old one. Don’t forget to upload it to the images folder within in the theme folder.
